Love sex toys? Join our affiliate scheme and recommend your favourites
Got a sex toy or product that you want to shout about? We've just launched our affiliate scheme, so you can get a share of the sales when you recommend the products that you love.
Most sex toy companies offer an affiliate program, which means that when you recommend their toys, lingerie, or other products, you can get a cut of the sales. It's a way of saying thank you for recommending our site, and encouraging other people to give us a try. As Christmas is coming, if you're preparing a guide to Christmas gifts for your readers, or you just want to tell them about a product that you'd like for Christmas, using an affiliate link means you'll get a cut of every sale.
Our aim is to offer the best sex toys and products at a really competitive price, so you know that when you recommend something, your friends and readers know you're sending them to the best deal. All you need to do is register with the scheme, and then you'll get a unique code to use on your links. When a sale gets tracked from your link, you get 5% of the money.
Who can sign up for the affiliate scheme?
The scheme is open to anyone, and in fact we're particularly keen to encourage people who are new to the idea. If you're looking to build traffic on your blog or social network, or you just want to find out how affiliate programmes work, register at our affiliate page and get your own unique code.
You can even register if you don't have a website – affiliate links work on social media channels including e.g. Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook.
Can I use affiliate links if I don't review sex toys?
You don't have to be the king or queen of sex toy reviews to use affiliate links. Even if you haven't written any toy reviews yet, you can still include affiliate links to companies on your website. Perhaps you want to recommend something you've used before, or direct people to gorgeous lingerie that's on your wish list.
How you use them is up to you ・ in text links, on your sidebar, or using a banner ad that sends people through to Belle de Soir. We've put together some eye-catching banner images or here for Box users that you can use if you'd like to try them out.
If you're an erotic writer, sex toy affiliate links can be a handy way to supplement your income from book sales too. If you're writing erotic stories for an audience of sexually liberated people, it stands to reason that they'll be interested in buying sex toys, gifts and underwear as well as your books. In the run-up to Christmas it can be especially helpful to give your readers a wider variety of options when they're looking for something sexy to buy.
Can I use affiliate links if I don't get much traffic?
Of course! If you want to run advertising on your site, you'll usually need a fairly large blog following. But if you're just starting out, affiliate links are a way to generate a small amount of income to pay for running your blog, even before you're a web superstar.
What if I'm not based in the UK?
If you are based in the United States, or any other country, it might be that you tend to use affiliate schemes from companies that are based in the same place. However, some of your traffic likely comes from the UK as well, and using an affiliate link for Belle de Soir alongside those for other companies means you can direct UK-based readers to a site where they can purchase toys at a low shipping cost.
Should I tell people the link is an affiliate one?
We strongly recommend that you do. Not only because it's the right thing to do but also because people often like to know that they're supporting your blog. Regular readers will want to encourage you to keep blogging, and if they can do that while picking up a bargain on the way? It's a win win situation.
How do I make the most of affiliate links?
