We’ve been treated to some interesting sex trends over the years – from bringing food into the bedroom, experimenting with ice cubes and wax, and getting tied and teased 50-Shades style. But one of the most recent additions to the sex market has really divided opinion – an app that lets you keep track of your sex life………………..
Nipple – the app to track your sex life
Nipple is a new sex app that encourages you to record the details of the sex you have – and we mean the details. It’s not just ‘when and where’ – you can add names of partners, specific sex acts, positions, sex toys you’ve used, and even what type of contraception you had in place.
The app seems to be aimed at people who have a lot of one night stands, but could be used by people in relationships as well – want to know when your ‘hottest’ times of the year are? Or whether there are certain positions you use more regularly? This app could give you more detail than you’d ever thought to ask for.
The benefits of sex tracking
Most people will probably think that they know their sex life pretty well already, thank you very much. You know what your favourite position is, which toys hit your best spots, and roughly how often you have it with a partner.
However when sex blogger Dirty Little Whispers reviewed the Nipple app she noted that it could be interesting to see if there are patterns that emerge about your sex life that you hadn’t previously spotted.
The fact that there are so many categories could provide inspiration for you and your partner too. If you’ve never ticked the vibrating ring box on your sex tracker, but you’re curious, it could give you a great excuse to try something new!
The downsides of sex tracking
If either you or your partner is going through a less-than-sexy period (we all get them!) having the stark numbers highlighting your lack of sex won’t exactly provide a confidence boost. What’s more, if one of you is feeling a bit too much pressure to become more adventurous in the bedroom, the array of different app options (from ‘kissing’ to ‘rimming’ and everything in between) could cause a bit too much friction – and not the fun kind.
Finally, of course, there’s the problem of etiquette. When is the right time to log your sexual activity – straight away? The morning after? Andthat’s before you’ve worried about what to put in the ‘rating’ category. The Nipple app lets you grade each encounter from ‘top’ to ‘fail’. Which gives ‘how was it for you?’ a whole new nervewracking dimension.
Overall, this sex tracker app seems designed for people who have lots of one night stands, or who want to gather all the nitty-gritty stats and details about their own sexual style. Is this something that would appeal to you? Would you like to be able to track your sex life, or does the idea turn you off?
