Bionic Strap On

Is this the world’s first ‘feeling’ sex toy?

Have you ever played with a sex toy and wished that you could get some instant feedback from it? Maybe a strap on that you wish was attached to you by pleasure and response rather than just via a strap?  Well, the future might have just what you’re looking for.

Ambrosia vibe – a bionic strap on?

A new indiegogo campaign is making waves among the sex toy community. The company claims to have invented the world’s first ‘bionic’ strap on. Meaning it responds to touch and passes those sensations on to the person wearing it.

How does it work? Well, using pressure-sensitive technology, it ‘feels’ what’s happening to the toy (whether it’s being stroked slowly, squeezed, etc) and then transfers that ‘sensation’ to a vibrating unit at the base. In theory, the aim is that the pleasure felt by the wearer corresponds to what they are doing with the strapon.

So what would otherwise have been a simple ‘in-out’ operation becomes something more reciprocal – if you were wearing the strap on you’d be able to experience sensations corresponding to your movements as well as your partner feeling what you’re doing with the toy.

Do bionic strap ons already exist?

There have already been attempts to create strap ons that give the wearer some direct sexual pleasure. The Feeldoe is a classic example – with a bulb that goes inside the wearer, and attached vibrating bullet, it’s definitely aimed at giving pleasure for both people.

Other toys, like the Fetish Fantasy Elite, go even further and include a vibrating pad to provide clitoral stimulation to the wearer. The difference with both of these, of course, is that vibration is provided by a bullet or battery pack that’s controlled separately – the Ambrosia vibe aims to make the experience relate directly to stimulation of the dildo itself.

Would you use a bionic strap on?

Of course, even if you’ve always fancied swapping roles for a day, a bionic sex toy will never give you the exact sensations of having a real penis: buzzing against your clit can’t exactly equate to a blow job, no matter how hard someone’s sucking a strap on. The toy itself is going to rely heavily on whether the sensations provided by the vibrator are strong enough to provide orgasms as well as arousal.

What’s more, there are many people who enjoy strap on sex because it provides the kind of detached domination that they’re looking for at the time: no need to be distracted by your own pleasure when you’re intent on working your partner into a sexy state.

Still, whether you’re excited by the idea of a bionic strap on or turned off by the technology, we bet you’re at least a little bit intrigued, right?
